Without a doubt, Marta has a very strong personality, and is quite passionate about getting her way. She is a bit of a tomboy and most certainly a Daddy's Girl. She has very high ideals, and views the world in terms of right or wrong, with no in-between. Marta can also be viewed as shallow and judgmental at times, and has the tendency to blurt out her opinion without thinking or considering anyone else's feelings. While she declares herself to be unforgiving, this is only half true. For example, while she harbors a vehemently open resentment towards Colette for being the Chosen and causing her mother's death, and fears half-elves due to their association with the Desians, she is still good friends with Colette and the Sage siblings. At times she can be seen as spoiled, demanding, and even downright bratty.
A huge issue Marta has is most certainly her dependency on others, whether it is her father and the Vanguard, Ratatosk, and eventually Emil. This is even pointed out by Alice in the midst of the game. However, just because she is dependant does not mean she does not know how to fend for herself, as she handles monsters with ease when she meets Emil for the second time in Luin. It is more of an emotional dependence that Marta has, and without having someone to turn to for emotional support, Marta could easily find herself in shambles. This emotional dependence most likely stems from losing her mother at a young age and "losing" her father to Solum's core.
When times are tough, Marta attempts to hide what is bothering her, despite being poor at it, but does bounce back rather quickly. While she is determined by nature, her emotion tends to cloud her judgment, causing her to act impulsively. Her first instincts are to get angry, then run away, in less than ideal situations.
Despite these shortcomings, Marta is actually a bubbly, outgoing, and cheerful girl, who easily makes friends and is genuinely kind-hearted. Regardless of how she acts sometimes, she feels immensely guilty for hurting anyone, and wants to see those around her in good spirits and health (this probably goes back to her fear of losing others as well). She is also willing to accept that she makes mistakes, and face the consequences regardless of what they may be. This sometimes makes her out to seem like a martyr.
It goes without saying that Marta is a hopeless romantic, always wishing for her Prince Charming to come protect her, love her, and always make her happy. At first, she pushes this responsibility onto Emil himself, and tries to conform him to her idealistic vision instead of accepting him for who he really is. In addition, she demands he say he loves her without taking into consideration his feelings at all. This all leads to a nasty argument between the two that causes Marta to realize what she is doing wrong. While she does not stop her antics completely, it does open up Marta to accept Emil and love him for who he really is. However, because of this adamant "love", Marta gets extremely jealous whenever Emil is supposedly looking at another girl, fearful of Emil being "stolen" from her, despite him not being hers to begin with.
It is also noted that she is horrible at cooking but actually improves when she is told to "taste her own cooking".
